| ABGB §1320 If someone is injured by an animal, the party liable therefor is whoever has incited or irritated the animal or whoever has neglected to keep it well guarded. The keeper of the animal is liable unless he proves that he took precautions to provide for the animal's proper custody and supervision.

ABGB §1320. Wird jemand durch ein Tier beschädigt, so ist derjenige dafür verantwortlich, der es dazu angetrieben, gereizt oder zu verwahren vernachlässigt hat. Derjenige, der das Tier hält, ist verantwortlich, wenn er nicht beweist, daß er für die erforderliche Verwahrung oder Beaufsichtigung gesorgt hatte.
